This July, carvers, artists, and wildlife and art enthusiasts alike gathered in Clayton for the 46th annual Thousand Islands Museum Decoy and Wildlife Art Show. The show, a Thousand Islands tradition, celebrates the artistry and craftsmanship of duck decoy carving as well as its connections to the area’s heritage and history. Decoy carving has been part of the Thousand Islands tradition for generations, thanks to the long-standing popularity and importance of waterfowl hunting in the region. The Thousand Islands Museum, with its commitment to celebrating local artistry, culture and heritage, features a permanent decoy exhibit that includes the Best of Show winner from each year’s event.

Coyote Moon Vineyards’s Wine and Craft Beer Lounge on Riverside Drive was packed with patrons Saturday night, most with beverages already in hand, primed for a voyage on the St. Lawrence River.

A shore dinner to benefit the Thousand Islands Museum in Clayton is set for July 18.
The dinner will run from 4 to 8 pm, at Coyote Moon Vineyards. Admisson is $20 for adults, $15 for military with identification and $10 for children.

The grapes being grown in north country vineyards were developed to survive temperatures of 40 below.
This winter was the first time that capability has been tested. Kristina Randazzo Ives from Coyote Moon Vineyards says it got as cold as 37 below in their vineyard this year.
She says she's confident the grapes survived and is anxious to see how well they did.

Two couples tied the knot in Clayton early on New Year's Day.
The St. Lawrence River couples and long-time friends said their "I do"s at the stroke of midnight, hoping to become the first married couples of 2014.
The intimate ceremony was held at Coyote Moon Vineyards' lounge in downtown Clayton.
