Coyote Moon Winery celebrates grand opening

JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Hundreds turned out with wine glasses in hand for the official grand opening of the Coyote Moon Winery in Jefferson County.
It's the largest vineyard in the county with more than seven thousand grape vines, and while their grapes won't be ready to harvest for another couple years, they are already using other people's grapes to make their own wine: eleven different styles to be exact.
People who attended the event say this is another winery to put Jefferson County on the map.
"This is an important day, not just for the winery. It's an important day for viticulture, for growing of grapes in Jefferson County because we've proven that you can absolutely grow grapes, and you can absolutely have a successful vineyard," said Phil Randazzo, Coyote Moon Winery Owner.
Randazzo says he hopes to see more grape growers and wineries open in Jefferson County in the near future.
