Marquette Training Trial
Coyote Moon Vineyards Clayton, NY
Timothy E. Martinson and Chrislyn A. Particka
Department of Horticulture, Cornell University

Short summary

In New York training system trials, Marquette had higher yields on vines trained to Umbrella Kniffin and Top Wire  Cordon than on vines trained to Vertical Shoot Positioning. The larger crop on TWC and UK resulted in 2°lower brix, but had no practical effect on titratable acidity or juice pH. Both TWC and UK require less hand labor during the growing season as well.
